Pediatric Care
Dr. Cline is often asked, "When should I have my child examined?"
Many are surprised when I say 6 months of age. Now that we know vision and the visual system are learned and not a given at birth it becomes more important to have your infant examined. We start seeing infants at age 6 months, age 3 and then age 5 (before kindergarten and every year after this. Protect the most precious gift we have been given…..Vision.
Infants should have a vision exam.
We participate in the American Optometric Association program called infantSEE. The goal of the program is to ensure that every child has an opportunity to have a vision assessment before he or she turns one year old.
It is a free service so please take advantage of it. Has your infant been examined?
We also participate in the SeeToLearn program This is a program initiated by the state of Kansas to provide three year old children with a free vision screening. This way visual problems can be detected before school and hopefully treated so that they do not hinder a child's learning in school. It is another free service so please take advantage of it and have you child's vision checked.
